Lectures

I am available to provide in person lectures in the mid-atlantic states.

My lectures can be tailored to a 5 minute introduction to kick off a noon conference or grand rounds, or my lectures can be structured to encompass a comprehensive discussion on physician disability insurance.  My lectures do Not consist of boring  power point presentations nor do they drone on using industry specific terminology.

Rather, my message is engaging and informative, told in a light, fun story telling manner.

The genesis of todays' Physician Disability Policy began in the 1960's.  To qualify for a benefit one needed to be non-ambulatory;  if you could make it through your front door  - no benefit.

My career began in 1982.  I was fortunate  to join a group of semi-retired DI professionals who filled me in on the progression of the Physician Disability Policy from the 1960's to 1982.  Holding one of these earlier DI Policies in my hand was like holding the Declaration of Independence - written on oversized parchment tied at the top with ribbon.

Over the next 10 years today's Gold Standard Policy emerged - in short just about any contingency that would cause the physician a loss of income was thought of and addressed as a contractual feature.  This product was discontinued in the marketplace in 1997 and until 2002 no physician Specialty Specific policies were offerred.  Luckily in late 2002 The Standard reintroduced it.

It is my firm belief that clients would rather buy a product then be sold one.  My clients respond favorably when they understand how this product evolved and how it's designed to protect not only their income but also their 9 to 16 years of higher education  [college, medical school, intership, residency and fellowship].  The Gold Standard Policy is a very, very special policy.

am also qualified to discuss a wide range of topics that tend to be on the mind of Residents/Fellows.  I am frequently asked about life insurance, the best time and how to engage the services of a financial planner and/or an investment adviser, and types of pension plans that an employer might offer and how to differentiate between them.  Due to my 29 year career at Northwestern Mutual, I have extensive experience providing life insurance and financial planning.

I completed a successful career with Northwestern Mutual that spanned 29 years.  I earned a bachelors of science in Business Administration with a focus in Finance - Investments.  I have been immersed in the Gold Standard of Disability Income Protection for over 30 years and I have medical professional clients practicing in 23 states.

I look forward to meeting and sharing this valuable information with you and your group of medical professionals.
